Starting our 50th Season!

Last week, we began our 50th Season with a splendid concert! Following on the success of last season’s “The Essential Puccini,” The Washington Chorus presented gems from the Russian master Sergei Rachmaninoff, including his crowning achievement, the monumental Vespers. One of the greatest a cappella masterworks in the choral repertoire, the Vespers (All-Night Vigil) is enjoying a phenomenal popularity with concert-goers everywhere.

The Washington Post said, "The Chorus - a huge ensemble that all but filled the Concert Hall stage - delivered full-blooded tone (with a nicely grainy, authentically Russian-sounding rumble from the basses), crystal-clear diction and laudable refinement in their tapered phrasing."
